History
Palace on Wheels began its first journey on 26th January 1982. The idea of this train stemmed from Indian Railways and Rajasthan Tourism. To make the train truly royal thirteen carriages from different princely states were gathered and then renovated.

Schedule
The train embarks on royal journey on every Wednesday of the week from Delhi Cant Railway station. After covering its destinations it comes back to Delhi in a week. The train runs only during the period between September to April.

The train offers 14 fully air-conditioned deluxe saloons which are fitted with modern amenities and are decorated majestically. Every saloon has four cabins fitted with bath and shower, channel music, wall to wall carpeting, intercom, satellite phones etc. All the facilities and services for your comfortable and pleasurable stay are provided on board. A personal attendant called Khidmatgar is always there at your service.
